Finaly I have found a Triumph Tr2 longdoor. The car needs a total restoration something that we have done before with a Triumph Tr3 smallmouth from 1957. The Tr2 is originaly an Arizona (U.S.A.) car and has had three owners before we got the car. The last owners granddad used to drive the car back in the sixty’s. He wanted to look the car as the latest model, so he changed the front to a Tr3a front. Inside the car you can see the vent-pull knob which is just for the show. The early Tr2 didn’t have a ventilation like the later models ( see the outside of the body).

I’ll go for a total restoration (body-off) to restore the Triumph Tr2 to it’s former glory. The colour is going to be ice-blue with blackberry interior.

Body engineer Walter Belgrove made the body design. 248 Triumph TR2 Roadsters left the factory in the year 1953, and 198 of those went for export. All were of the “long door” variety so named because the doors extended to the very edge of the car. (A shorter door style entered production in the fall of 1954.) After 4002 cars the changed to short door cars. In Oct.1955 Triumph introduced the Tr3 model (TS 8637L).

Tuesday 14 july 2009 The Triumph Tr2 is going to be collected by the shipper in Paramount L.A. U.S.A.

Finally the Triumph Tr2 has arrived in The Netherlands!

Home and ready for restoration !
